Virtual Assistants, Business Babysitters
Many small business owners look upon holidays with horror. How much business will they lose, what happens if a client needs support while they are away? The fact that a holiday will refresh them and help not only them but their business is something that is forgotten.
Having worked with many of my clients for years we have always offered holiday cover to them. One of them described it as ‘Business Babysitting’ which seemed to us the perfect title.
So how does the service run?
Virtual Assistants are the admin specialists. Running their own businesses they know what a business owner needs and most pass their business over to other VA’s when they go on holiday. You will get your phone answered, messages forwarded, e-mails sorted and nothing will be missed and all your clients will be happy on your return.
The way this works is as follows:
* A weekly standing charge (being any 7 days) for the duration of the holiday if full 9 to 5 cover is expected.
* If there is no telephone answering required a good idea is a per item charge for other admin work.
* Ancillary charges should be agreed with the client before the holiday starts and charged at cost. These items are such things as postage, phone calls, large print runs or mailings.
Now is the time to start letting your clients know that you offer this service. With the ability to order inexpensive business cards via the net, there is nothing stopping you from ordering 250 for this specific purpose with a calendar on the back. The client is much more likely to keep the card and of course will be reminded of your service each time they use it.
Happy Virtual Assistant Business Babysitting
Working with your clients, you know their needs and also the worries they have about their business. They may be very similar to the ones you have regarding your own. Offering this service will bring you in an income at the worst part of the year - the holidays. You will get known as the ‘Virtual Assistant Business Babysitter’
