You May Already Be A Victim!
My Personal Review Of LifeLock By Robert Gantt
Identity theft is a term we all hear a lot these days. And if you’re like me, it’s probably not something you’ve spent a whole lot of time thinking about. Keeping your credit rating high can be a difficult thing; it’s something we should all think about a little more than we do.
It wasn’t until a close friend of mind had her identity stolen that I saw how insidious a thing identity theft can be. Her whole world had turned upside down. It took over a year of nothing but hassle, after hassle, after hassle to get her life back together.
Everything you have can be lost if you become a victim of identity theft. Worse yet, most victims don’t find out until the damage is already done.
It was about this time that I heard my first advertisement for LifeLock, The identity protection company. What got my attention was that the ceo of the company came on the radio ad and actually gave out his social security number on the air.
Now, I thought, that is a man who stands by his product! Either that, or a maniac.
Either way, my interest had been piqued, and I was now determined to find out.
I visited the company website and lo and behold, Todd Davis, the ceo, had his social security number big and bold right there on the website for anyone to see. He obviously believes in what he offers.
The company gives a 1,000,000 guarantee - further displaying the confidence they have in their service.
On their site, LifeLock promises to do whatever it takes to remedy things if your identity is stolen while using their services. Accountants, lawyers, anything you need is at your disposal. Best of all, any money lost due to identity theft is covered by their guarantee.
If your identity falls prey to thieves, LifeLock will do whatever is necessary to put things to rights for you. They’ll pay for legal assistance, investigations, whatever you need to fix the problem. The company will even reimburse you for money lost due to identity theft. LifeLock will pay any and all costs up to one million in the cause of recovering your losses from identity theft, quite a guarantee by anyone’s standards.
I enrolled right away upon finding the cost of this service was a mere $10 per month. I felt better at once knowing I had this caliber of protection behind me. LifeLock even requested fraud alerts for me (I wasn’t even aware such a thing existed!).
Fraud alerts are very handy. Once creditors are established with the credit bureaus, they must verify your identity before they can open lines of credit in your name, issue cards or increase the limits on your existing ones. This is a good protective measure from the risks of identity theft.
LifeLock will also order, and have sent to you, your current credit reports from all of the big bureaus.
As an additional protection, anytime something affecting my credit is attempted, I am notified by phone of it and asked to verify this. This really puts your mind at ease. My wife and I used to spend a lot of time shredding documents; now that we have LifeLock in our corner, this is no longer necessary.
If you still haven’t taken the steps necessary to secure your identity do yourself a favor and try LifeLock. You won’t be disappointed. If you’re like me protecting your credit is definitely worth the 30 cents/day LifeLock charges..
