Dangers Of Abdominal Fat

People around the world are dying because they carry around excess fat. That excess fat causes many problems which lead to their deaths. What does this have to do with abs. Excess ab fat is one of the most lethal fats in the body.

You want to have abs that you can be proud of. You want to walk down to the pool and rip of your shirt to expose the abdominal muscles of your dreams. Before you do that you should know the health risk associated with continuing to carry around that ab fat of yours. This way when you are ready to give up you will know there is much more at stake that just appearances.

There are two kinds of fat in the area surrounding your abs. Research has shown one of these to be particularly dangerous to your health.

The first layer of fat hides the ab muscles you so desperately want to show off. Making up 80% of your bodies fat the subcutaneous fat lays just beneath the skin. When people talk about body fat percentage this is the type of fat they are referring to.

Visceral fat is the other type of fat in the area of the abs. This fat is deep inside packed in between the internal organs. The average non active person piles on four pounds of this dangerous fat per year. Women may experience this type of fat in the hips and buttocks. Also known as the apple or pear shape. Men usually see the effects of this fat as a pot or beer belly. Instead of being flabby this fat often feels hard when you push on it.

When considering the dangers visceral fat is by far the worse of the two. So be concerned about just the outer layer of fat would be a mistake.

You will greatly reduce your risk of many diseases such as cancer, diabetes, asthma, alzheimer’s and many more by lowering your visceral fat. You see your bodies immune system is powered by inflammatory messengers. Visceral fat releases too many and sends your immune system into dangerous overdrive. This overdrive attacks healthy tissue and slowly destroys your body.

Now that you are armed with this information you should walk into the gym with purpose. Reducing ab fat could literally save your life. At the very least you will help avoid many of the diseases that plague the world. Oh, and of course you will create hot sexy six pack abs.

It’s not just enough to know the dangerous health risk of excess abdominal fat. If you don’t know where to start you can waste a lot of time. I don’t want to leave you at the mercy of every ab reduction fad that comes along. Learn some tried and true workout and diet keys (not the age old sit-ups, crunches, and cardio) and you can find success.

You know you want to develop incredible abs. However, you can’t do what everybody else is doing. Most of the people you see doing thousands of sit-ups and hours of cardio fail to ever develop abs of steel. Then there are the people you know who have started and given up. Why do people fail to follow through with their goals of healthy abs? Why don’t people follow proven workout and nutritional plans?

As you have learned in this article healthy abs are important to your overall health. When you fail to follow through on sound workout and nutritional plans you are opening yourself up to inflammatory diseases and other health issues. Developing hot abs is not just about your looks any more. You now know the truth about the health risk of having a fat midsection.
