The obvious might be bed bugs as there is much literature on this today however the better class motel/ hotel is not likely to have this problem. Then again the bed might be just too hard or too small or too something but this is not the issue in Feng Shui. The very colors of the bedroom can be the cause of negative energy. Strong colors such as red or purple are active colors and should be avoided in the bedroom. Pastel colors are acceptable and neutral colors are ideal.
There are some ideal colors and they are pastel light leaf green and pastel light blue. Any room with these colors will create a beautiful flow of ‘Chi’ which will highly benefit you as you sleep. Another color is the color of paradise so called and that is lavender pink. Its not likely you will get your ideal choice in a motel room but choose it if they are available.
When you enter that motel for overnight stay or a holiday flat for that yearly break from work you should always check out the lie of the land as to where the bed is positioned for best Feng Shui energy flow.
Avoid using a room where the bed is facing a mirror and your image is viewable. The mirror will reflect and expand the negative energy in you and hinder physical recovery which sleep is meant to bring. And equally important don’t ever sleep in a bed with the foot of the bed facing the door. This is known as the ‘coffin position’ and the term is self-explanatory.
For a business person who travels and sleeps in many different bedrooms there may a tendency to leave papers and documents and a satchel sort of scattered around the room after reading in preparation for the next day. In doing so you have created a clutter which can cause the energy of chi to be distorted and in turn effect your sleep pattern as well as your business arrangements for the next day.
Good idea to take with you on your travels essential oils such as lavender and the most beneficial of all Rose oil. Blend it in diluted water and spray gently around the room for best and quickest effect.
I once stayed in motel room where I felt discomfort through the night. The room seemed heavy and even aggressive in a strange way. Later I discovered that in that room, some weeks earlier, a crime of violence had been committed. I knew immediately that I was picking up the negative energy of that violence just like a radio picks up music . I have always used a blessing prayer for rooms which are not mine. The ‘Blessing Prayer” can be as follows - “Universe of energy and love I now ask that this room be cleansed of all previous harmful or hurtful acts that have been committed here. I ask that this room be blessed with your divine ‘chi’ light and energy for health and healing”
